First off - this is an excellent wine.
Now, than it is NOT what it is being described as in the above review and thank goodness for that.
The are no Asian spices, incense, etc...Pah-lease, when will this wine review bs ever end.
This is a very pleasant "Dry" wine, Dry means Dry, no asian spieces, no exploding cherries. It's dry,
98 percent of the new found mass marketed audience has no concept of what a good dry wine really means. They are being convinced to expect fast made - expensive wine fruit foward wines - which are the cheapest to make and move fast.

Thanks for the post! It too bad I didn't know about the event, because Amarone is one of my favorite wines. But I also have to admit that while there is an attention to quality, most of the Amarone I tasted from the latest vintages (2004, 2005, 2006 and so on) are bearing an overripe fruit and lacking the finesse of the older vintages...

First of all, I would never judge you! And, second, thanks for the compliment. Glad you enjoyed the article. And, I'll have to check out the Nouveau Chuck sometime.

Interesting map. looking at the USA and the big fat budweiser between ccors and sam A. My husband and I love wine and live in the midwest. How do you market the great taste, class and sophistication of wine to those wonderful midwesterners who are missing out? :-)

I LOVE the way you compared Beaujolais Nouveau to cilantro! So apt!

Don't judge me, but in November good old Trader Joe's releases a special "Nouveau" version of their infamous Two-Buck-Chuck (the Charles Schwab that retails for $2.99 a bottle.) It's made in California in the same style as Beaujolais Nouveau and is actually consistently, astonishingly good. Given that Beaujolais Nouveau is sometimes considered overpriced, if you like the style and ease-of-drinking, you might want to give it a try.
